What is and is not verified
What a seal proves
That a document's bytes are unchanged since it was sealed, and who signed the seal. Each document's SHA-256 fingerprint is recorded when it is uploaded and signed with Property Vault's key; use Verify on any document to check it.
What it does not prove
That what a document says is true, or that the work was done well. Verification describes the evidence on record and who issued it - never the quality of the work. Property Vault never values an asset, surveys it or makes a credit decision.
Who issued each entry
Each entry names the organisation that issued it. “(identity checked)” appears only when a professional's membership was checked against the public register and that check was reviewed by a second person. Entries labelled “Owner-provided · not verified by a professional” were added by the owner: they count, are capped, and are never called verified.
Tamper-evident, not public
Each document's SHA-256 fingerprint is recorded when it is uploaded and sealed with Property Vault's key. Who issued it is recorded by the professional who created this record. “Verified” describes the evidence on record, never the quality of the work. Public anchoring is a rehearsal on XRPL testnet: a daily root of keyed commitments, with nothing that identifies the asset, a person or a document; each document's line below says whether it is covered. XRPL testnet rehearsal. The test network can be reset. This is not live financial infrastructure; mainnet anchoring is on the roadmap, subject to approvals. Documents are stored privately on Property Vault's servers in Germany (EEA) and are never published.
