Platform · Vault ID

Every asset gets a Vault ID: a digital asset identity for life.

A permanent digital identity for physical assets - the same shape for a house in Leeds, a Ferrari, a Patek, a cask, a yacht. Natural keys (UPRN, title number, VIN, hull number, serial, cask number) are captured per class and held off-chain; the Vault ID is what travels - through sale, claim, remortgage and probate.

Private by design Twelve asset classes Free for owners
The identity primitive

One unique asset identifier. One asset. For life.

The permanent identifier of an asset's Vault - everything that proves, describes and gives financial utility to what you own.

PVPrefixThe issuer
GBCountryJurisdiction of the record
{AREA}Area codeRegistration area
000000Six digitsIssued once, never reused

One per asset

Issued to the asset, not a person. For homes a UPRN or a stated reason is required at creation, so a house is never registered twice.

Never reused

A retired identifier never points to a second asset. Whatever cites a Vault ID cites one thing, for good.

The asset is the unit of record

Owners change, mortgages are redeemed, probate passes it on. The identity stays with the asset, with everything attached to it.

Inside the Vault

Twelve facets. Every class, the same shape.

What fills each facet differs by class. The shape never does.

ID

The Vault ID and the class's natural keys, held off-chain.

Ownership

Who holds the Vault today, and every prior holder.

Provenance

Where it came from - build, make, vintage, first sale.

Documentation

Deeds, V5C, certificates, invoices - hashed on upload, receipt issued.

Condition

Surveys, inspections and photographs, dated and attributed.

Valuation

Valuations as issued, by whom and when. Never computed by us.

Insurance

Policy, schedule and specified items, so a claim starts here.

History

Verified History: every event in order, graded by who issued it, sealed.

Location

The site, mooring, hangar, safe or cellar. For a home, the UPRN.

Verification

The Vault Score - a verification score - whether the documents exist, who issued them and that they are unaltered since issue; never a valuation, a credit input or a judgement of the work.

Ledger record

Integrity anchoring, in rehearsal on the XRPL testnet; after the DPIA, a pointer token on the XRP Ledger. Never title.

Tokenisation Markets

Whether ownership may be represented through regulated issuers. Subject to approvals.

Open-data seeding · Launching

Never empty on day one.

A record nobody has filled is a record nobody reads. A new Vault opens pre-seeded from public sources.

  • Homes: HM Land Registry open data, the EPC register, planning decisions, flood zone and OS Open UPRN.
  • Vehicles: DVSA MOT history and DVLA records.

Property Vault reads HM Land Registry open data. HM Land Registry is the register of title; we never touch it. OS Open UPRN is open data (OGL, Ordnance Survey, 2020).

Natural keys by class

The same digital asset identity. Twelve different anchors.

Every class already has identifiers the world trusts - UPRN, VIN, hull number and serial among them. A Vault captures them, off-chain.

Natural keys stay the keys of the bodies that issue them - off-chain, never reachable from the ledger.

Ledger record · Roadmap · subject to approvals

On the ledger: a pointer, never title.

The record lives off-chain. What may live on the XRP Ledger is a pointer - mutable, class-tagged, gated - identifying nothing.

A pointer, an attestation

It says a record exists and where a permitted reader finds it. Not ownership, never title.

The statutory register wins

On any conflict the register wins - HM Land Registry for a home, the V5C for a vehicle.

Testnet after the DPIA

Testnet after the data-protection impact assessment, then mainnet. Until then the record is read off-chain, through scopes and the Vault API.

Transfer

Transfer with history intact.

Change of owner is a first-class event, not a new record. The digital asset identity stays put and the new owner inherits the evidence.

  1. Seller releases

The owner starts the transfer and chooses what the buyer sees before completion.

  2. Buyer accepts

Into their own account. For a home nothing here moves money or title - conveyancing does; the Vault follows.

  3. History preserved

Every event, document and prior owner stays. The Verified History is the asset's, not the seller's.

  4. Vault Score recomputed

Recalculated from the same evidence; any pointer follows. No toll on moving your own asset’s record.

Private by design

A digital asset identity is not a listing.

Readable by the people its owner chooses. Searchable by no one else.

No public lookup

Nobody can type an address, registration or serial into Property Vault and read a record.

Valuables private by default

A watch, a painting or a cask is invisible until its owner opens a scope for a named role.

Reads under a scope, and logged

Under a time-limited, role-limited scope, or in a transaction. Opens are logged.

Status and next step

Where each class stands.

Property Vault runs a Homes pilot at propertyvault.world/homes - a working app with a real verification engine, sealed documents and scoped sharing. One demonstration record is public.

Live in pilot Property Launching Luxury (watches & jewellery), then Vehicles Roadmap · subject to approvals nine classes

Vault ID is the first capability of the asset verification platform; the verification score and Verified History build on it. Watches and jewellery are next, then Vehicles, each launching with the partners who register them; every other class is designed for. Register interest: hello@propertyvault.world.

Questions

What does a Vault ID look like?

PV-GB-{AREA}-{6 digits}. One per asset, never reused. The asset's natural keys - UPRN, VIN, serial - are captured alongside it, off-chain.

What is a digital asset identity?

A permanent identifier for a physical asset - not a crypto token or a media file - that carries the asset's documents, history and verification through every change of owner. In Property Vault it is the Vault ID: PV-GB-{AREA}-{6 digits}, one per asset, never reused, with the natural keys (UPRN, VIN, hull number, serial) held alongside it off-chain.

Is a Vault ID the same as my UPRN, title number or VIN?

No. Those are natural keys issued by other bodies and stay in the record. The Vault ID is Property Vault's identifier for the Vault itself, the same shape for every class.

Is my house on the blockchain?

No. The record lives off-chain. A pointer token on the XRP Ledger may reference its manifest behind a scope; nothing reachable from the ledger identifies the property, and it is never title.

Can anyone look up my asset by address, registration or serial?

No. There is no public lookup. A Vault is read only under a scope the owner grants or in a transaction, and opens are logged.

What happens to the Vault ID when I sell?

It stays with the asset. Seller releases, buyer accepts, Verified History preserved, Vault Score recomputed. No charge for transferring the record of your own asset.

If you own it, give it a Vault ID.

Free for owners, private by design - a digital asset identity that is yours through every sale.
