More than a check:
classic car history that stays with the car.
Everyday cars, vans, trucks and motorhomes; Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, McLaren; classics, vintage, historic racing, one-offs and famous-owner cars; Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Brough Superior. For a car a check already exists; a classic car history file that travels with the vehicle - car service history, MOT history, restorations, owners - does not. Launching.

One Vault ID per vehicle, keyed to the VIN. The record is the same shape for a van and a Brough Superior - a car service history for one, a classic car history for the other; only who writes and who reads changes.

A history check plus a logbook - and we say so.
A check answers one day's question against someone else's registers. A Vault answers the life of the vehicle.
The vehicle record holds the VIN and VRM encrypted. MOT history and vehicle enquiry adapters are built against the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and DVSA MOT history APIs with recorded test data; live lookups switch on when our API registrations are approved. Finance-marker checks are Roadmap · requires a data contract: finance, write-off and theft data belong to the incumbents who collect them, and if a Vault ever shows them it is under a data agreement with the source named. Everything else - invoices, stamps, photographs, the digital service history the next owner will read - is hashed on upload and given an integrity receipt.

What a classic car history file should contain.
Buyers, insurers and finance houses ask the same of a classic car history; most of it sits in a folder that follows the car only if the seller remembers it. The Vault seals each item to its issuer and date and carries it to the next Owner.
The registration certificate (V5C) is evidence of the registered keeper, not of ownership, so it sits beside the bill of sale rather than in place of it. The full list of car documents to keep is in the guide.
Identity and ownership
- VIN and VRM, matched to the DVLA record and held off-chain
- Photographs of the chassis plate, engine number and, for a motorcycle history record, the frame number
- Bills of sale and invoices from each change of hands
- Manufacturer or archive build record where one exists
- Previous keepers' correspondence, club register entries and concours results
Condition and work
- MOT history from DVSA, with each recorded mileage
- Car service history: stamped book, invoices and parts lists, as a digital service history
- Restoration photographs and invoices, stage by stage
- Pre-purchase and independent inspection reports
- Valuations and the agreed-value insurance schedule
Written by the trade. Read by those who carry the risk.
Owners grant every scope on the record; opens are logged.
Who registers
- Owners - open the Vault and decide who reads it. Free.
- Specialist dealers and auction houses - issue the Provenance Passport at sale, sealed against the lot. Launching.
- Restorers and inspectors - issue restorations and inspections as verified events.
Who reads, under scope
- Buyers - the whole history before the deposit.
- Insurers - valuation and custody at underwriting; the Claim Evidence Report at the claim.
- Finance houses - the record beside the valuation, under a lender-valuer scope.
- Owners' clubs - provenance before concours entry.
The mechanism is familiar - the way an HPI check works for a car - institutions that must register finance, write-off and theft data, sold to the trade at pence a look - for everything you own. The difference: the record is the owner's, carries the documents, and leaves with the vehicle. We asked the same question of a house.
HPI is a registered trade mark of HPI Limited. Property Vault is not connected with HPI.

Property Vault Markets - tokenised ownership, collateral and lending for verified real-world assets on the XRP Ledger - launches through regulated partners, subject to regulatory approvals. Roadmap · subject to approvals
Tokenise
Whole, as a pointer; or fractional, as a regulated instrument - offered only by FCA-authorised issuers or Digital Securities Sandbox participants, for vehicles that meet a minimum Vault Score and a clean statutory record. Property Vault supplies the record and eligibility data; it never hosts an offer, holds keys or moves money.
Lending & Collateral
To borrow against a classic car: through regulated lenders, who assess the Vault through the Vault API. On-ledger it depends on XRPL amendments still in validator voting - Single Asset Vault (XLS-65), Lending Protocol (XLS-66) - supported when they activate. RLUSD settles; XRP is the liquidity.

Classic car history: common questions
Checks, MOT history, service records and what transfers at sale.
What is a classic car history file?
The documents that prove what a car is, who has owned it and what has been done to it: bills of sale, the build record, the car service history, MOT history, restoration invoices and photographs, inspection reports and valuations. In a Vault each is sealed on upload with an integrity receipt, named to its issuer and date, and read under a scope the Owner grants - the same asset provenance record every class uses.
Is this a car history check by registration number?
No. Property Vault does not sell checks and there is no lookup by VIN or registration. The record is the Owner's; a buyer reads it under a time-limited scope before the deposit. Finance, write-off and theft data belong to the incumbents who collect them; if a Vault shows them, it is under a data agreement with the source named.
How does MOT history get into the record?
MOT history and vehicle enquiry adapters are built against the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and DVSA MOT history APIs with recorded test data - launching; live lookups switch on when our API registrations are approved. Each test result is shown as the DVSA record states it, with its date and recorded mileage, as a statutory-record event; the Owner adds nothing to it and cannot edit it.
Does a digital service history count without the stamped book?
Yes, as far as its evidence goes. Invoices from the garage are sealed on upload and graded by who issued them - registered professional 0.9, firm 0.7, owner-provided 0.4, as published for the Homes pilot - so a digital service history shows what exists and who stands behind it. The Vault Score is a verification score - whether the documents exist, who issued them and that they are unaltered since issue; never a valuation, a credit input or a judgement of the work.
Does classic car provenance transfer when the car is sold?
Yes. Transfer is recorded as its own event and the next Owner receives the whole Verified History intact. A specialist dealer or auction house can issue the sale as auction house provenance - the Provenance Passport - sealed against the lot. Launching.
Are motorcycles covered?
Yes. A motorcycle history record uses the same Vault ID, keyed to the VIN or frame number, with the engine number, service and MOT history, restoration and ownership on one timeline. Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Triumph, BMW Motorrad and Brough Superior are named here as the machines people own, never as partners.
When does the Vehicles class launch?
Watches and jewellery are the next class, then Vehicles, each launching with the partners who register it; no class carries a launch date. Register interest and we will tell you when Vehicles opens. The engine is live in pilot for homes; see the watch provenance class for what launches first.
