What you need

What you need to request a Vault ID: an address, your documents, one identifier.

For a home

The address and its UPRN, the Unique Property Reference Number every GB address carries. A UPRN or a stated reason is required before a Vault ID is created.

What a property history report holds

The documents you already hold

Building Control completion certificates, Gas Safe records, EIC and EICR, FENSA and HETAS certificates, surveys, photographs. Each is hashed on upload and given an integrity receipt; originals are kept.

How a digital asset identity works

For any other class

The natural key the asset already carries - VIN, hull number, brand, reference and serial, cask number, ISIN. Held off-chain, never published; there is no public lookup by address or serial.

Inside the Vault

Questions

Before you start.

Is it really free to request a Vault ID?

Yes. Owners never pay: the Vault ID, sealed documents, the Vault Score, scoped sharing, transfer and export are free, with no trial and no card. Property Vault is paid when an Organisation uses Pro - see Property Vault pricing.

Do I need my UPRN?

A UPRN or a stated reason is required before a Vault ID is created. If you do not know your UPRN, leave the field blank and give the address and postcode. The UPRN is held off-chain and never published.

Who issues the Vault in the Homes pilot?

A participating professional. Paddick Engineering, a Leeds structural engineering firm, is the founding issuer in the Homes pilot. When you request a Vault ID we tell you the next step and when owner sign-up opens.

Can I apply from outside Yorkshire?

Yes. Yorkshire postcodes open first; request with any UK postcode and we will tell you when your area opens.

Can I register interest for a watch, a car or a boat now?

Yes. Watches and jewellery are the next class, then Vehicles, then Marine, each launching with the partners who register it; every other class is designed for. Nothing is created until your class opens, and any identifier you give is never published or searchable.

What happens to my Vault when I sell my home?

You transfer it to the new owner with the history intact; the Vault ID is permanent and there is no toll. Transfer with history intact is launching. Short answers to more questions are in the Help Center; what to gather is in the what documents to keep guides.

If you own it, put it in your Vault.
